Scammers are posing as Hydro Ottawa via text messages.
Hydro Ottawa is warning its customers of a text message scam.
Several people tweeted Thursday about getting a text message from a number with a "204" area code, claiming to be from Hydro Ottawa.
A link is attached in the text message, which says customers have received a refund or deposit from Hydro Ottawa.
Clicking the link will likely compromise your security, and your personal information may be stolen.
If suspect that you've been a victim of fraud, you can contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-95-8501, or Ottawa Police at 613-236-1222 ext. 5433
