The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says it's received a report from a Walmart in Kanata about someone tampering with infant formula.
The CFIA said the formula's outer container appeared intact but the product inside had been substituted.
There has been no illness associated with this report.
The inspection agency said this type of tampering is not usually from the manufacturing process but can happen occasionally when someone returns altered products to the store for a refund.
The CFIA says people using infant formulas should examine the packaging material to ensure that the security seal is intact and has not been altered or substituted.
Anyone who finds a product that looks like it's been altered should not consume it and should contact their local law enforcement authority or the CFIA, the agency urged.
